Security Guard Application Processing:

Gold Shield Training Center schedules appointments to complete the New York State Security Guard Application, fingerprints, and also gives you a copy of the completed application for a fee of $35.00.

The items you need to bring with you to your appointment are the following:

• New York State Driver’s License or New York State Identification Card.
  
• Bank or Postal Money Order for $135.00 payable to New York State, Dept of State.
  
• *Certificate of Disposition (if you were ever arrested).
  
• 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course Certificate.
  
• Cash or Money Order for $35.00 payable to Gold Shield Training Center.
  
• Armed Security Guard only: 47 Hour Firearms Training Course Certificate

*Certificate of Disposition is a document you receive explaining the outcome of an arrest. If you had two arrests, you will have two Certificates of Dispositions. You can obtain a copy of your Certificate of Disposition from the court house of the jurisdiction you were arrested in. (For example: If you where arrested in Mount Vernon, NY then you would need to obtain a copy from the City of Mount Vernon Court House.)
