Vincent R. Manzione is a retired Police Lieutenant who worked for the City of Mount Vernon Police Department for over 30 years. During his career he held numerous positions within the Department, including but limited to: Executive Officer of the Detective Division; Unit Commander of the Training Unit; and Tactical Team Leader of the elite Emergency Service Unit, for over 20 years. As the Executive Officer of the Detective Division, he administered the daily operation of the Division, supervised over 50 Detectives, managed numerous complex investigations, and was trained in numerous areas including homicide; robbery; and hate crime investigations. As the Unit Commander of the Training Unit, he was continuously certified as a Police Instructor in a variety of areas for over 25 years and responsible for planning, developing, and conducting Police Academy and in-service training programs. As a member, supervisor, and administrator of the Emergency Service Unit he received countless hours of tactical, rescue, emergency medical, weapons of mass destruction, and incident command training. During his career he was personally involved in over 1000 high risk police tactical operations.
